Week 7 Game Picks

Week 7 Game Picks

BYE WEEK: Panthers, Browns, Steelers, Buccaneers

20 OCT 1 PM ET

49ers @ Redskins

Pretenders? Nope. 5 games into the season the 49ers remain perfect in the NFC. This week they take on a 1-5 Redskin team. Perhaps their easiest opponent to date. After a dominant divisional win last week, I don’t see the 49ers going down anytime soon… especially to the Washington Redskins.

Score: 31-17, 49ers Win.

Cardinals @ Giants

SAQUON.png

It’s a bounce-back game for some key players at Metlife Stadium. Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals makes his 2019 season debut after serving his six-game suspension (PEDs). As for the Big Blue, they get their sophomore season running back, Saquon Barkley (ankle) back this week. It’s going to be a battle between the QBs in this one. Kyler Murray selected 1st overall in the 2019 NFL Draft & 5 picks later the Giants nabbed Daniel Jones at 6. On Sunday, the two best rookie QBs (based on draft order) will go head to head in the Big Apple. I expect the Giants to win this one at home behind their run game with a healthy Saquon & Evan Engram in the aerial attack who goes up against a Cards defense that allows the most YPG & TDs to opposing TE’s.

Score: 31-27, Giants Win.

Dolphins @ Bills

If you are looking for an early Sunday nap this is the game to watch. Expect the Bills to keep the Dolphins offense dry with Fitzmagic returning to New Era Field in a Dolphins jersey.

Score: 32-10, Bills Win.

Texans @ Colts

A divisional matchup that takes a trip down memory lane! The last time Deshaun Watson & Jacoby Brissett went head-to-head was on Halloween, 2015 in a college game that combined for 97 points! 4 years later, the two of them but heads as divisional rivals. The Colts are coming off a bye as the Texans are coming off a dominant road win over the Chiefs. Interestingly enough both AFC South teams last win was vs. Chiefs. Brissett has a great history against the Texans, establishing a 3-0 record. Although the Colts coming off a bye week look strong, the Texans look stronger. They are 2-0 in their last two games & Deshaun Watson has kept his jersey clean! 0 sacks over the last two games for the same QB who had been sacked 80 times since the start of last season. I’m taking the Texans on the road to win their 3rd consecutive game while claiming first place in the AFC South.

Score: 27-24, Texans Win.

Vikings @ Lions

A divisional game. The Vikings are 0-2 in divisional games this season practically making this matchup a must-win. SPOILER ALERT! They don’t win! Has Kirk Cousins been hot the last two games. Yes. Is this offense finally clicking & defense getting stops. Yes. Am I convinced? Absolutely not. Take into consideration that Kirk Cousins recent success in the past two games has come against a 2 of the bottom 5 secondaries in the league. The Giants & Eagles. This week a road divisional game sounds like a big game that Kirk Cousins once again will not show up for. Expect the Vikings offense to revert back to their run game as their primary attack on offense. I expect Matthew Stafford & the Lions offense to be nothing short of productive against this Viking secondary.

Score: 30-22, Lions Win.

Raiders @ Packers

Another week, another game without Davante Adams, another Packer W. The football gods have blessed Rodgers & the Pack with yet another home game to close out the first half of the season! Unfortunately for the Raiders, after traveling in week 5 to London they got a Week 6 bye only to head on the road again in week 7. That too against a Packer defense at home allowing a mere 19.2 PPG… The Raiders (0-5) have not beat the Packers since moving to Oakland (1995). Sunday won’t change anything as the Packers are primed to improve to 6-1 on the season as the Raiders slip to an even 3-3.

Score: 31-20, Packers Win.

Rams @ Falcons

Yes the game is in Atlanta, but LA STAND UP! It’s officially time for the Jalen Ramsey era. Imagine having one of the most disruptive pass rushers in the league with (arguably) the NFL’s best defensive back in the secondary. Well that’s a reality this week with Aaron Donald looking to generate serious pressure knowing Jalen Ramsey is on the backend defending the Falcons elite wideout, Julio Jones. Ramsey now in his 4th season, has never faced off against #11 of the Falcons. This year he was going to face him, have it be this week in a Rams jersey or still a member of the Jaguars in December.. Ramsey was set to meet his match at some point this season.

RAMS.png

The Rams acquiring Ramsey is going to show the amount of damage this defense can now do. Unfortunately, Matt Ryan & the 1-5 Falcons fall victim to the new-look Rams this week. In a practically must win game, Matt Ryan may not have his best pass-catcher in Julio Jones available all the time. The Falcons are going to have to strategize differently as Ramsey will not bow down from shadowing Julio all 4 quarters. As for the Rams offense, despite Gurley (quad) being cleared to play, Jared Goff is going to have to find a way to stay consistent and win this game with an aerial attack. With all this in mind, I expect the Rams to snap their 3 game losing streak as the Falcons playoff hopes begin to fade away…

Score: 27-23, Rams Win

Jaguars @ Bengals

The Bengals simply don’t look like a team that can come together to win a football game. In all seriousness, we are 6 weeks into the season & everyone notices the Dolphins woes whereas the Bengals are practically just as bad if not worse! This week could potentially be Gardner Minshew last week as a starter for the Jaguars as Nick Foles is expected to return to practice after Sunday’s road game. Last game or not, Minshew will lead the Jags to a much-needed road victory as the secondary adjusts to life without All-Pro cornerback, Jalen Ramsey.

Score: 34-17, Jaguars Win.
