BYE WEEK: Cardinals, Vikings, Chargers, Chiefs

1 DEC 2019. 4:05 PM ET Game

Titans @ Jaguars

This matchup simply comes down to consistency. Something the Titans have proven & something that the Jaguars are yet to show. Last week’s blowout in Indy was not the happiest of returns for QB, Nick Foles & although he would want to change the script against the Titans, it’s going to be deja vu. Another week. Another road game. Another AFC South rival. Another loss for the Jags.

Score: 27-21, Titans Win.

1 DEC 2019. 4:25 PM ET Game

Cowboys @ Patriots

Okay Patriot fans. Don’t worry. The back to back road games against bird named teams is over. You are back in Gillette Stadium with a favorable matchup…

In all seriousness though, I simply do not see the Cowboys winning this game. They do have the good-looking stats ahead of this classic, however, when it comes to coaching & player consistency, the Patriots are the best in the business. That’s a fact. Jason Garrett is going to have a tough time in Foxborough on Sunday as I predict the Cowboys’ offense to stay one-dimensional against a Patriot defense that is getting their grip back. With Ezekiel Elliot having failed to rush for more than 60 yards in 4 games this season, it’s been the Dak show in Dallas. The 4th year stud has notched a 100+ passer rating in 4 consecutive games (longest active streak). If anyone can stop the Cowboys #1 ranked offense, it’s Belichick & his #1 ranked defense. Always.

Score: 30-21, Patriots Win.

Sunday Night Football

Packers @ 49ers

Put it all aside. Everything. The drama. The fans. The history. We are much too fond of these two NFC powerhouse teams & comes with no surprise that the two of them clash in a game with a potential first-round bye at stake. Could it get better than this? This Packer & 49er matchup is truly one of a kind. It’s been in the works longer than you’d think. Both Matt LaFleur & Kyle Shanahan are products of former Redskin’ head coach, Mike Shanahan (Kyle’s Dad). Aside from the talent on the field, the brains behind each teams success this season resides on the sidelines. The Packers are going to need to find a way to stop the run & coming off a bye week helps greatly as they’ve now had about a week for this matchup. Aaron^2 is going to be a big problem for the 49ers. Aaron Jones has accounted for 48.7% of the Packers TDs this season. Going up against a 49er defense ranked top 5 in scored will be a formidable matchup. Something that is very tough to ignore in this matchup is that the 49er defense has allowed an AVG. of 26 PPG over the last 3 weeks! Not the best stat line with a Packer team coming fresh off the bye averaging 25 PPG!

Meanwhile Aaron Rodgers has lived for this moment. Since the Packers 2011 playoff loss to the New York Giants, Aaron Rodgers has been itching for a 1st-rd bye. Especially a 1st seed… Sunday Night poses a great opportunity as the Packers will be in the NFC’s driver seat if they were to steal a road W. Spoiler alert! They do.

Score: 27-23, Packers Win.

Monday Night Football

Ravens @ Rams

This is a tougher game pick than you’d think. It’s more of a gut feeling than a statistical approach when I think about this game. I just find it hard to believe that the Rams, who have the reigning defensive player of the year are not ready for Lamar Jackson & the Ravens high-powered offense. The more I say it the more I believe it. They aren’t ready. Quite frankly, no team is. Sure, the Rams have managed to generate pressure on opposing QBs on 33.3% of dropbacks (highest in NFL). However, this isn’t the most appealing stat for this game as Lamar Jackson is so elusive in the pocket that you would not want him to take off with his legs. Containing Lamar is the major key here. I think this Rams defense can hold up well, however, their offense is a different story. Jared Goff joins Panthers’ Kyle Allen as the only two QBs in the league to have 4+ giveaways than passing TDs this season… the concerns on offense outweigh a respectable defense which leads up to a Ravens W. The Rams have to show me consistency. Especially Jared Goff.

Score: 34-24, Ravens Win.
