Week 10 Game Picks cont.

BYE WEEK: Eagles, Patriots, Broncos, Texans, Jaguars, Redskins.

10 NOV 4:05 PM ET Game

Dolphins @ Colts

Weird to say it… but the Dolphins are no longer winless! Don’t get fooled just yet! I wouldn’t chase the Dolphins success, especially on the road where they are still winless! The Colts have found a fine line between wins & losses this season. When holding their opponent to fewer than 24 PTS they are 5-0. On the flip side, when they have allowed 24+ PTS to their opponents they are 0-3. This week they take on a Dolphins offense that has avg. 19.3 PPG in their last 3 games. Sure the Dolphins could see a close matchup against a Colt team that has had every game decided by one possession or less this season. Point is, the Colts will bounce back at home.

Score: 29-24, Colts Win.

10 NOV 4:25 PM ET Game

Panthers @ Packers

Bounce Pack! That is the theme for the Packers this week to simply reset & go “1-0” at home this week. After getting handed a “humble piece of pie” out west last week, the Packers return to Lambeau to take on the Carolina Panthers. What you would presume to be a shootout might not exactly happen. I am going to take the cold weather into consideration here & that is when Rodgers & the Packers are at their best… a two-dimensional offense. The Panthers, rain or shine will always be a one-dimensional offense, however, don’t let that fool you. That “one-dimensional” offense has a name. It’s called Christian McCaffrey aka the man who has accounted for 42.5% of the Panthers scrimmage YDS this season (most in NFL).

No matter what defense “CMC” plays he is bound to have success. As for Panthers’ Kyle Allen, not so much. The sophomore season QB tallied up 9 TDs & 0 INTs in his first 5 starts (5-0 record). Over the last 2 games however, Allen has thrown 2 TDs & 4 INTs (1-1 record). While staying on the topic of QBs the Packers have their own offensive Juggernaut whose name is Aaron Rodgers. It’s sweet Carolina for Rodgers as he has a 102.5 passer rating vs. Panthers (highest all-time for QB vs. Panthers (min. 5 starts)).

Score: 31-23, Packers Win.

Rams @ Steelers

This is it. This is the game when we get to see the Rams play their best football in a while. 8 games into the season for the Rams, Sunday in Steel City will make game #9 aka the start of the second half of the season. I’m not going to doubt Sean McVay coming off a bye week, have it be on the road or at home. Point it this Rams team is coming off a bye. With Brandin Cooks sidelined for yet another matchup, I wouldn’t fret too much as Cooper Kupp is coming off a 200+ receiving YD game. As for the Steelers JuJu Smith-Schuster, he has to go up against Jalen Ramsey… not your ideal Sunday afternoon. To make matters worse for the Steel offense, they will be without running back James Conner (shoulder) for the second consecutive week. I still expect a nail biter in Pittsburgh as the Steelers defense is going to be wreaking havoc in the Rams pocket all game long. Regardless, I expect Jared Goff (who has a record of 3-0 since 2017 in the Eastern Time Zone) & the Rams to pull out with a W!

Score: 27-24, Rams Win.

Sunday Night Football

Vikings @ Cowboys

I’m blatantly going to say it. I got the Boys’ winning this matchup at home against a familiar foe in Kirk Cousins, who by the way is 0-4 against Dak Prescott! Quite frankly, this is one of the toughest picks of the year as these teams are matched up a little too well. Here’s a breakdown of what primetime has to offer us.

Defensive Statistics

On top of all that linear bar graph displayed, both the Cowboys & Vikings are allowing a mere 17 PPG ranked #4 & #5 in the league. Here’s where some big differences are going to come up. Quarterbacks. Kirk Cousins has statistically been better with 1 more TD pass & 5 fewer INTs compared to Dak Prescott. However, when it comes to Pass YPG, Dak is averaging nearly 300 pass YDS whereas Kirk Cousins is averaging nearly 250 pass YDS. Running backs is going have a great matchup as well as Dalvin Cook one-ups Ezekiel Elliot in both touches/game & YDS. If the Boys’ defense can stand their ground & Dak Prescott can keep their offense two-dimensional always, I don’t see why the Cowboys can steal one at home against one of the better teams in the NFC.

Score: 24-23, Cowboys Win.

Monday Night Football

Seahawks @ 49ers

Rivalry. Back. On. The NFC West just keeps getting wilder & Monday Night’s matchup is going to bring the best of the west. With the Rams not looking like legitimate contenders to win the NFC West for the third consecutive season, it comes down to the Seahawks & 49ers. The Hawks’ have had their fair share of success against the 49ers in recent history. Even if the 49ers were able to win a game or two in the regular season, the Hawks’ always found a way to one-up their NFC West rivals in a game that would send the winning team to, I don’t know? The Super Bowl? Okay 49er fans I think I’ve tortured you enough in this game pick as the Legion of the Boom years was certainly not a walk in the park. Here’s a statistical breakdown of that “Legion of Boom” defense against the 2019 49er’ defense…

DEF. Comparison

oh how the tables have turned. To put the cherry on top, the 49ers defense this season is allowing 241 total YPG compared to the “Legion of Boom” allowing 273.6 total YPG! MVP Russ could face a tough matchup as this defense is allowing a mere 138.1 Pass YPG (fewest in NFL). As for his favorite target Tyler Lockett? Yup, 0 receiving TDs on the road this season… Monday night is not only going to put the NFC West on high alert, but the league. The rich get richer on Monday night. It’s a goldmine for the soon to be 9-0 49ers!

Score: 27-23, 49ers Win.
