Week 9 Game Picks

Week 9 Game Picks

BYE WEEK: Rams, Saints, Falcons, Bengals

International Game

3 NOV 9:30 PM ET

Texans “@” Jaguars

Halfway through the season. the Texans are exactly who we thought they were. The Jaguars… not so much. However, they don’t have Nick Foles as their starting QB & quite frankly if he was healthy they would have at least 1 or 2 more wins. This week, the Jaguars & Texans take their AFC South rivalry across the pond to London. I’m going to be blunt here. I’m not sold on the Jaguars as each of their 4 wins this season have come against opponents below .500. As for the Texans, 7 of their 8 games this season has come within one-possesion. Expect a close one in London with the Texans coming out on top.

Score: 23-17, Texans Win.

3 NOV 1 PM ET

Colts @ Steelers

This is a pretty straight forward game pick. Despite the fact that the Colts are the only team this season to have every game decided by one-possesion, the Steelers have failed to win a game against teams above .500 or above (3-0 vs. teams w/losing record). Something that could be concerning is the Colts 2-14 record at Heinz Field, the lowest win % vs. any opponent on the road. I wouldn’t dwell on that too much as I believe the Colts are simply the better team, with or without TY Hilton.

Score: 23-20, Colts Win.

Jets @ Dolphins

Another snooze fest this week. The 1-6 Jets head to Miami to take on the winless Dolphins. Although I have the Jets winning this game, they need to find their identity offensively in this one. With Darnold’s 8 giveaways over the past two weeks & Bell not being to rush for over a 100 YDS all season, the Jets offense is a ?. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have lost 10 consecutive games dating back to last season… expect that to become 11 on Sunday.

Score: 26-20, Jets Win.

Vikings @ Chiefs

I’ll let the statistics do most of the talking here…

Kirk Cousins this season

Kirk Cousins is simply not the same QB this season when playing outdoors. Quite frankly, in an alternate universe where the entire league plays indoors is where Kirk Cousins is worth $84M! On top of this statline that I have displayed, his passer rating indoors is an astonishing 132.9 whereas his passer rating outdoors is a mere 92.8. Now regardless of Kirk Cousins outdoor woes, the Chiefs have to do their due-dilligence and still stop Dalvin Cook to make this Viking offense one-dimensional. Matt Moore seemed to look more comfortable in the pocket last week against Green Bay. With another week of familiarity & running the offense Andy Reid desires to run, I expect the Chiefs to pull out with their first home win of the season.

Score: 29-24, Chiefs Win.

Bears @ Eagles

Dread it Bears fans. The day has come. In order to move on with your 2019 season, you have to play your past. The Bears 2018 season was one-and-done due to the infamous “double-doink” & a bit of Foles magic. This time around, Carson Wentz is back & healthy at QB & instead of the Bears, the Eagles have the more favorable matchup. This is practically a must-win game for Chicago as the NFC North is not a division you want to have your backs against. Spoiler Alert! History repeats itself. The Bears have not found a way to get things going offensively as Mitchell Trubisky is averaging under 200 Pass YPG! As for the Eagles two-dimensional offense… despite not being able to produce a 100-YD rusher dating back to 2017, Philly has a record of 3-1 this season when running the ball at least 30 times (1-3 when they run it fewer than 30 times). On top of that, Desean Jackson (abdominal) could make his way back into the Eagles aerial attack. Expect history to repeat itself…

Score: 23-21, Eagles Win.

Titans @ Panthers

The Panthers got pounded out west last week. This week they have a great bounce-back game against the Titans who by the way are 2-0 since Tannehill took over as the QB. This week that will change, as it’s not only Tannehill’s first road game as starter, but it will be his first loss. Something Kyle Allen will have to watch out for is the Titans 7th ranked pass rush as he had a passer-rating of 0 against the 49ers last week when pressured! Expect the Panthers to stick with what they do best. Feed McCaffrey.

Score: 24-21, Panthers Win.

Redskins @ Bills

Okay no one is really blatantly saying it which bothers me. So here goes… the Bills are the worst 5 win team in football! This team could be a playoff team down the stretch due to the fact that they play teams like the Redskins! It’s practically W’s being handed to them! The Redskins got a new sheriff in town & his name is Dwayne Haskins. Like every “Welcome to the NFL” moment, it’s not going to be a good one for Haskins. Expect the Bills to be a learning lesson for the 15th overall pick. Expect the Redskins to rely on Adrian Peterson as the Bills will stay two-dimensional on offense behind Josh Allen’s magic.

Score: 28-20, Bills Win
